The Shelter Island Friends of Music Concert Series for 2020 opens with an audience favorite and show-stopper, violin virtuoso, Eric Silberger.  As an internationally acclaimed violinist, Mr. Silberger is a top prizewinner of the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition and the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2011.  His performances have been described by critics as “spine-tingling…astonishing confidence (The Guardian), dazzling virtuoso playing” (The Washington Post), “bold, technically solid, charismatic” (Indianapolis Star).  Mr. Silberger will be accompanied on the piano by another acclaimed virtuoso, Bradley Moore.  Together they will be presenting a program featuring great composers of opera, showcasing their way of creating drama for the violin and piano.  The program will include music by Mozart, R. Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, and Hubay.
